Speaker: Zhao Ke
Location: Electronic Science and Technology Museum, Chengdu, China

As the first comprehensive museum of electronic science and technology of China, the Electronic Science and Technology Museum (ESTM) was built by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in Chengdu in 2016. The ESTM has collected over 14,000 objects in six sections, namely radar, radio and television, electronic measuring instruments, electronic components and computers.

Zhao Ke will show 25 objects, including a 12-inch silicon ingot and its manufacturing machinery, a high-power klystron (height of 3 meters, weight of 200kg, pulse power of 2.5MW and average power of 50KW), the “HAOYITONG” communication base station (once used at Mount Everest base camp at 5,200 meters altitude) and a classic supercomputer in the museum.

The ESTM tells a miniature story of China’s electronic industrial development history, forming bridges between science and humanity and revealing the development of the electronics industry.
