Dive into the world of scientific object digitization!

The Knowledge Laboratory for Natural Science Collections and Object-related Data (WiNoDa) invites you to a hands-on workshop for museum professionals and staff working with natural history collections who want to digitally capture and document their objects effectively.

The workshop will focus on innovative technologies and methods, including 3D scanning, macro photography, and digital documentation. Participants will have the opportunity to try out various digitization stations at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and directly compare the different results. Additionally, you are welcome to bring your own, small objects to test them with different cameras and equipment.

Workshop Goals:

• Learn about modern technologies for object digitization
• Gain hands-on experience with tools for capturing and documenting objects
• Compare results across different devices and techniques
• Network and exchange ideas with colleagues from the museum sector

This workshop provides an excellent opportunity to prepare for the professional digitization of natural history collections and acquire new skills in this field.

The course will be conducted in English.
