Tradition Archives in Motion: sounding out good practices and challenges with folk collections

Folklore and tradition archives are increasingly stepping into the digital realm, offering new ways to safeguard, research, and share cultural heritage. This conference will explore good practices and challenges in areas such as digitisation, access, community engagement, exhibiting folklore, and the ethical use of AI in archives. Scholars and practitioners at all career stages are invited to contribute.

The conference is organised by the University of Freiburg, Center for Popular Culture and Music, in cooperation with the SIEF Working Group on Archives and the Institute for Cultural Analysis of the Germans of Eastern Europe.
